Lots of talk lately about the new patent discovery filed by apple. This patent was actually filed over a year ago, so maybe this is now a mute point with jailbreaking and unlocking becoming officially legal. But the gist of what the patent is, is apple wants to be able to remotely kill your phone, take pictures remotely with the phones camera, and use things such as voice recognition and even heart beat patterns as “unauthorized user” recognition. This is scary, but interesting at the same time. Remember, this is just a patent…apple files tons of patents that never see production, so no need to stress at the moment.
I am a police officer during my day job, a detective actually. I am looking at this patent idea from a different angle. What if apple is trying to make the device more secure for the USER, not to kill jail broken devices? Think about it….your device is lost or stolen…apple can remotely kill your device to protect your data, but also remotely access your camera and photograph the possible suspect who has your phone, along with his surroundings. As a detective who may investigate your stolen iPhone case, thats some good evidence.
Maybe….just maybe…apple isn’t acting sinister here, but trying to come up with new security measures for us, the customers.
Also…its illegal for them to remotely access you camera and film you without your knowledge. Here in VA it’s a class one misdemeanor punishable by a $1500.00 fine and a year in jail. Not to mention the civil suits that would follow. Recently a school district got into trouble for remotely accessing the “missing” laptops of several students via the web cams and filmed some of them in compromising positions. That case is still in litigation….but it will not end well for then school
district!
Now I’m being optimistic, maybe apple is up to trouble, and is actually trying to bend the law and spy on their customers. If this turns out to be the case this fanboy will shout a big FUCK you to apple and a BIG hello droid. I will also help organize apple store protests across the country. But for now, let’s all calm done and wait and see. This whole “traitorgate” may be much to do about nothing.
As always, stay informed. New apple rumors come out everyday. Some are true, most are not.
Last night I had a scary moment. For some reason my iphone 4 (on 4.0.1) was crashing every time I received and incoming text if my phone was in sleep mode. In other words, if I was using the phone at the time the text came in all worked. If the phone was not in use, I would hear the text alert but then my phone would crash. One time it even had the dreaded “connect to itunes logo”, but oddly, a reboot got rid of the connect to itunes logo (never seen that before). Odd
I began to unistall every app, jailbroke or legit from the most recently downloaded back, trying to find the culprit. NOTHING i did would fix the issue. I had to restore. Fuck me! This would force me to go to 4.0.2 and loose my jailbreak AND my ability to jailbreak.
Well, like a good boy, I saved my SHSHs via cydia. I restored and was able to use tiny umbrella to downgrade back to 4.0.1 and re-jailbreak via jailbreakme.com
Moral of the story? Listen to the jailbreak experts! When they tell you not to update….DONT FUCKING UPDATE. When they tell you to save you shsh blobs, SAVE THAT SHIT! You never know when you will need to use them. Saving your blobs is easy, free, and takes 1 minute of your time. Consider it jailbreakers insurance.
And who are they? The jailbreak experts? Hopefully since your reading this you know Jima6636 is a GREAT source for idevice help. Of course the devs are the true experts. @planetbeing @comex and @musclenerd are three very vocal devs on twitter. And of course, follow @saurik
A few other people to follow on twitter who are VERY helpful, and will almost always help out are:
Ok…so I messed My foot up real bad and will be out of work. Upside, I bought an iPad (that I really cannot afford) to help me pass the time. I have played with this thing now for like 3 straight days and have to say I love it. Now before you go calling me an fanboy and shit let me start by saying that I was so against this “big iPhone” from the jump. But I had time to marinate on the idea of using this for web browsing, played with one at the apple store and like fatty spins says, “I fell love at the apple store”. Lol. Anyway…this thing is lightweight, easy to use (iphone os) and does exactly what it is supposed to do. The only issue I have is the wifi bug. This is supposed to be fixed in the next update, we will see. Easy fix i have found is when you loose your wifi connection and it prompts you to enter your wifi password, just swipe good ol sbsettings, toggle wifi off and back on. You shoud be good to go then. Or at least it works for me.
Of course Im jailbroken, and that presents a few problems at the moment. Not every jailbroken app works completely, and some not at all. While at the same time, some work just perfect. Here is a link to the ipad apps for jailbreakers (what works and what doesnt) http://j.mp/aziwk1
Since I have had this thing I have only used my iPhone for phone calls and texts…imagine that. And I got the wifi only version and mywi works like a Charm. If it wasn’t for tethering I think I would sell my iPhone and go with a dumb phone
The newest jailbreak on the scene is the Spirit Jailbreak. This is an untethered jailbreak for all devices on the latest firmwares, 3.1.2, 3.1.3, 3.2. That means it jailbreaks every single device, iPhone 2G, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3G[S], iPod Touch 1G, iPod Touch 2G, iPod Touch 3G, and the new iPad. This simplistic Jailbreak is unbelievably easy. Just as Blackra1n by Geohot up’d the standards on how a jailbreak should be done, the Spirit jailbreak also is a plug and click system. Literally plug any iDevice into your computer, make sure it is up to date, and click the Jailbreak Button. No need for backups or saving data, and a mighty fast hack at that.
Spirit is the ultimate jailbreak for all devices at the moment. Downloaded it and show some support at: http://spiritjb.com/

Misc small changes and bug fixes.
1.0.1 is already sent in for review. This app has a few bugs but it just came out so you can expect that. I will use it for some time and see how much I like it.
So wanted to make small post about the new twitter app coming soon I’m guessing. If you guys remember last month Tweetie was bought by Twitter and the original dev of Tweetie was gonna work on the new twitter app with them to make it better. Yesterday iTunes pulled Twitter 2 From the appstore and today I was sent a picture from Creamers On twitter with the new Twitter app all though it is not available yet for download you can see it as the icon like tweetie 2. What is your thought on this will you be using it or will you keep your old twitter apps ?
Tired of looking at almost a full inch of wasted non-used screen space on your iPad as I am??? Well here’s your fix and all you need is one awesome and powerful app from Cydia called iFile and few lines of code to do the trick. I don’t care how you get iFile but this tool should be a MUST HAVE if you like to theme or mod your iDevice. Now keep in mind: this works with most apps, but there are a few apps that this doesn’t work for or has been non responsive to touch so please keep that in mind while doing this… Watch the video and if you need further help just look below that for a step for step guide. I hope this helps you iPad users and thanks for reading.

After x2 feature
After the modd/Fullscreen
Watch here:
Step by Step Guide here:
1. Download iFile via Cydia or SSH into your device.
(If you to SSH into your device you will have to download a additional package from Cydia to obtain access to your files on your iPad called afc2add and reboot)
2. Open ifile and navigate to: var/mobile/applications
3. Now press blue folder on the left side and look at the 3rd folder down to find the apps name your looking to enlarge
4. After you select the app you want to enlarge, enter the (app name).app and scroll down to inf.plist and select it.
5. Now hit edit(top left) go to the fourth line of code which is <dict> place the cursor at the end of that and hit return on your iPads keyboard.
6. Now you should be on a fresh line and paste the code(posted below) there.
Place code where blue cursor is
7. After the code is placed hit Save(top right).
Should look like this after pasting then hit save.
8. Now respring your device and enjoy the full screen!!!;)
Microsoft – at least in comparison to Apple – has a veritable romance underway with Adobe. But that hasn’t stopped Microsoft from flirting with other, more Apple-friendly technologies. Case in point: Microsoft has dibs on H.264-based HTML5 for the all-important web video content market.
In recent days, we’ve all witnessed Apple’s relationship with Adobe deteriorate into a vitriolic war of wars between two former allies in a brave new tech world ripe for the software and technologies of both companies. But with Steve Jobs’ latest published rant effectively dismissing Adobe as a thing of the past, Apple is clearly notifying the tech world that Cupertino is moving in a new direction and that everyone else – that is, if they want their content available through an iDevice – should follow along.
Strangely enough, one of the first major names to seemingly get on board with Apple in recent days is Microsoft, which is now also propping up the H.264 standard for HTML5 video content. According to Dean Hachamovitch, Microsoft general manager for Internet Explorer:
The future of the web is HTML5. Microsoft is deeply engaged in the HTML5 process with the W3C. HTML5 will be very important in advancing rich, interactive web applications and site design. The HTML5 specification describes video support without specifying a particular video format. We think H.264 is an excellent format. In its HTML5 support, IE9 will support playback of H.264 video only.
While Microsoft continues to broadly support Flash in many aspects, this latest hint suggests that the spark lit by Apple could result in an anti-Flash conflagration that may sweep across the digital landscape in the coming years. While Steve Jobs cited at least six major reasons why Flash is simply not worth supporting in the iPhone OS, Hachamovitch is also trumpeting complaints about Flash’s most-nagging issues – those, in particular, that relate to performance, security, and reliability.
By no means is Microsoft dumping Flash. But Microsoft is clearly no longer looking at Flash as a thing of the future. Microsoft and Apple are now arguably united in a likely perception of Adobe as a lingering blast from the past.
Just wanted to make this small post on a site owned by Geohot and get your guys feedback on it!!! Seems are boy George has himself a new site called Limera1n Now what does this mean? well here is one thing I do know he was last active on it on April 13 2010!! Now you may say so what’s the big deal well if you remember he jailbroke firmware 4.0 on that same day!! So what do you guys think is this the next Jailbreak???
You can also check Here for yourself to see geo does own this site.
Well, the 4.0 software has had a jailbreak, long before its release, and it has become public for all users with the iphone 3g. Due note, it is not hacktivated (no cydia so pointless for end-users) but the new redsn0w beta 9.5 has been open for jailbroken app devs to allow their apps to be used on 4.0. Many of the apps are not compatible with the new 4.0 software and therefor need to be revamped before its official release of the OS and the jailbreak. Smart move made by the Dev Team, seems like the 4.0 OS and its jailbreak will come quite seamlessly. As of now, it is still not smart to upgrade to the 4.0 beta. It is still very unstable and quite laggy, so don’t expect much till the official release
